2023 Hawke’s Bay Marathon Just One Month Away

Excitement is building for the return of the New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty Hawke’s Bay Marathon, with just one month to go until the seventh edition of this popular event.

Taking place on Saturday 26 August 2023, thousands of athletes will descend on Hawke’s Bay to enjoy a weekend of flat easy running while indulging in the finest food and wine and the region has to offer.

The event caters for participants of all abilities with four distances to choose from – the New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty Marathon, La Roche Posay Half Marathon, Havana Coffee 10km, and the Kennedy Park Resort Kids Run.

Keegan McCauley, Race Director of the Hawke’s Bay Marathon, said the region is ready and waiting to welcome athletes and their supporters back for the 2023 event.

“With just one month to go, we’re counting down the days until the return of the Hawke’s Bay Marathon. The courses will take athletes through stunning local cycle trails and beautiful country roads, all finishing at the impressive Elephant Hill Estate & Winery where they can celebrate their efforts at the vibrant finish-line food and wine festival.

“The Hawke's Bay region is beyond ready and excited to welcome you back into their iconic wine country, and our team can’t wait to see you all at the starting line on Saturday 26 August,” said McCauley.

“Entries remain open across all distances – marathon, half marathon, 10km and kids run – and with just one month to go, now is the time to sign up and plan your weekend away in the Bay,” he said.

Now in its seventh year, the Hawke’s Bay Marathon is an important event for the region, bringing in around $7 million in economic benefit each year.
