Destination Hawke's Bay
The Hawke's Bay area, encompassing Napier and Hastings, is one of New Zealand’s must see regions. Located on the east coast of New Zealand’s North Island, occupying around 14,000 square kilometres of diverse and amazing landscapes from mountains to coastal plains. The Bay has many great things to do, places to stay, plus amazing food and wine, architecture, beaches and wildlife to experience.
Napier is known as the Art Deco Capital of New Zealand boasting incredible and inspiring architecture built throughout the 1930s after the devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake in 1931. Tremains Art Deco weekend is held every February attracting enthusiasts from around the world to the region to celebrate with their cars, costumes and other condiments. Art, culture, exhibitions and shows are all well embraced in this area.
The region boasts thousands of acres of vineyards, orchards and farms, providing a picturesque backdrop, and making the region well known for its wine and food production. Soak up the tastes and views while wine and cheese tasting at one of the well-known vineyards.
The Hawke's Bay Farmers market is held every Sunday in Hastings. A fantastic opportunity to meet the grower or producer of such a wide variety of fine high quality products. Leisurely wander around with a fresh hot coffee, listening to local music and enjoying the local tastes.

Napier Airport welcomes daily domestic services from around New Zealand.

Road Closures
With an event of this size, we rely on the goodwill of businesses and residents to help us make the event a success. To assist those that live or work near or on the course, we will produce a map of the traffic access plan, including road closures and parking restrictions that will be in place for the event. Please read through it and familiarise yourself with the road closures.
