Course description
Runners will head out from Anderson Park before winding their way down Westminster Street and onto Wharerangi Road, where they make their way towards Church Street, and make a right-hand turn towards Park Island.
Once in Park Island, athletes will get their first taste of trails as they run around the base of the hill before making their way back onto the bike paths of Prebensen Drive. Crossing Prebensen Drive, runners join the limestone trails around the Ahuriri Estuary, before crossing the old rail bridge, winding through Westshore and over Pandora Bridge towards Ahuriri and into the Port of Napier.
Once past the port, it is straight shot down the beautiful Napier coastline to Waitangi Regional Park on the coastal path. Runners then head south towards the Clive River and along the oceanfront to the mouth of the Tukituki River before curving along the east side of the Tukituki River towards Haumoana. The final stretch continues south along Beach Road and Clifton Road, taking in the views out to Cape Kidnappers, before finally arriving at one of the most welcoming finish lines in New Zealand at Elephant Hill Estate & Winery.
