|Cut-off Time||Due to course management and road closure restrictions, the course will officially be closed at 4:00pm. Athletes must reach the following point on course to ensure you make the course closure at 4:00pm. Any competitors reaching this point after the cut off time will not be permitted to continue.
|Timing Results||Timing results will be provided by age group category for both runners and walkers, and will be based on participant's mat time. The Marathon age group categories are as follows for men and women; 18-19 years, 20-29 years, 30-39 years, 40-49 years, 50-59 years, 60-69 years, 70-79 years, and 80+ years.|
|Prize Money||Prize money will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall Men and Women runners across the finish line. 1st - $3,000, 2nd - $1,500, 3rd - $750.|
|Prizes||All New Zealand Sotheby's International Realty Marathon finishers will receive a Finisher Medal. Non-monetary prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd placing in each running age group category for Men and Women, and will be based on participants mat time.|
|Walkers||Walkers are welcome to enter the Marathon. Please adhere to all course cut off times and ensure walkers start at the back behind the runners and keep to the left at all times.|
Flat course, easy running. The course offers a unique mix of running terrain, with a combination of running on-road and Hawke’s Bay Cycle Trails.
The course takes in the highlights of the Hawkes Bay region including the start line on West Quay in Napier, running along the waterfront, Hawkes Bay cycle trails, quiet country roads and the finish line at Elephant Hill Estate & Winery.
Runners start overlooking the Ahuriri Marina before winding their way around the Ahuriri Waterfront towards Napier. After taking in Marine Parade the course cuts inland via Te Awa Avenue, past Maraenui Golf Course and through Brookfields Road to join the Hawke’s Bay trails out to the waterfront at Waitangi Regional Park.
The course then returns along the Ngaruroro river trail to Pakowhai before joining another road section on Farndon Road as far as Clive. From Clive the Hawke’s Bay trails along the Clive River, along the ocean front and along to Mill Road from the mouth of the Tukituki River. The course follows the East side of the Tukituki River from Mill Road towards Haumoana before heading south along Beach Road and Clifton Road to discover the stunning finish line at Elephant Hill Estate & Winery.
